JPIMedia Owners In Discussions To Sell i And Local Newspapers: Sky News

JPIMedia’s owners are in discussions to sell the i newspaper and local titles, Sky News reported. JPIMedia along with its advisers have set this week’s deadline for initial proposals for papers such as The Scotsman and the Yorkshire Post, the report added.

In an email to Reuters, a JPIMedia spokesman proclaimed that the firm has recently appointed a financial adviser to review options for the business and its titles. He added, “We are actively exploring a number of options open to us.” JPIMedia can be described as a firm formed by bondholders. Last year, it purchased Johnston Press’ assets following the British newspaper group, which was filed for bankruptcy protection. According to The Sky report, the possible bidders for the i newspaper might include Mediahuis, a European media group.

On a similar note, recently Nelson Mandela’s family disclosed that it is rolling out a media firm. Reportedly, this move is in honor of the inheritance of the late anti-apartheid political leader. Mandela’s family proclaimed that it is collaborating with Michael Sugar, who is a well-known film and television producer, and DMA United, an ad agency, to create Mandela Media. Earlier, Sugar23, Sugar’s firm, produced “13 Reasons Why” and “Spotlight” among others.

Under the latest Mandela Media trade name, the new group is supposed to develop short- and long-form content that would focus on gender equality, racial inclusion and equality, social justice, and mental health awareness. While announcing the endeavor, Makaziwe Mandela proclaimed that his father spent his life fighting for equality and freedom. He added that the Mandela family is very excited to associate with Sugar23 on Mandela Media. DMA United and Sugar23 not only trust in Nelson Mandela’s values but are also extremely passionate about sharing those principles with all individuals across the world through culture, art, and entertainment.
