Google made a small declaration this week on Twitter: it is in the process of launching out novel AI functions for its Lens service that will allow you search your library of Google Photos for text that comes into view inside screenshots and photos. Then, you will then be capable of simply copy-pasting that text into a document, note, or form.
Both of the new functions use a method dubbed as OCR (optical character recognition), with the copy-paste feature building on current ability of Lens to know and pull out the text seen inside pics, be it a photo or a screenshot of a physical document or sign. As per media, that functionality is accessible now on some Android machines, even though it does not seem to be quite active still on iOS. You might already be capable of searching your pics for text on the web with the help of Google Photos.
Google is placing the Lens function as a way to simply hitch a coexisting Wi-Fi password, but it can also be employed to get hold of any part of text from any screenshot or photo in your library of Google Photos.
On a related note, one of the dissatisfactions users had with Smart Clock by Lenovo was that the machine’s small screen did not do as much as it can (or might) versus similar goods. During launch, it did not even provide the basic feature of acting as a digital picture frame for your library of pics. That is something the smart display by Google (Nest Hub) can do, as can various bedside Echo machines by Amazon with displays. Google and Lenovo are rectifying that this week with an upgrade that lets the smart device to display your collection of Google Photos. If you have one, it might auto-update this week at some point.
